EQ Manager (EQM)

SAP Savants EQM  is an embedded SAP transaction that provides a single point of access for your asset register and it's related data.  EQM not only provides extensive equipment level reporting which includes cost, reliability and availability but also includes instant access to related data such as materials, bills of material, maintenance planning and maintenance orders/notifications.  EQM also supports the mass changing of data including, pattern matching, status changing the the updating/augmenting of long text.

The upper portion of the EQM transaction contains a list of the equipment and/or functional locations that have been retrieved per your selection criteria and, along with the standard equipment data includes; classification data, calculated fields for counts and status reporting, costs, breakdowns and the ability to add 30 customer specific fields (10 character, 10 numeric and 10 date) for your company specific reporting needs.  This portion of the transactions also let's you select a group of equipment for mass changing.

Selecting a group of equipment and one of the 'drill thru' options will determine the information contained in the lower portion of the EQM transaction.  Available options are:

  • Material - For the selected equipment EQM will determine, via the Bills of Material, all of the materials that are related to the deleted equipment.  EQM shows one records per material and, along with regular MRP data, will display qty available, value, where used, last PO.
  • BoM- For the selected equipment EQM will list all of the BoM lines for all of the selected equipment.  EQM will also include with each record the regular MRP data and qty available, value, where used, last PO.
  • PMs - For the selected equipment EQM will show all maintenance items and maintenance plans.
  • MOs - For the selected equipment EQM will show all maintenance orders and notifications .

PM Leveling - In real time SAP Savants PMM will allow you to select rows for leveling, click the reschedule button and PMM will reschedule the plans and provide immediate feedback on the schedule impact.

View a full decades PM schedule on a single screen.  Used SAP ALV functionality to group / total / filter by area, equipment type.  You can even include characteristic values from the technical object.

SAP Savants PM Manager is a delivered SAP transaction that resides within your SAP system.  Data Selection is via the standard selection screen and the report output is via familiar ALVs that contain extended scheduling and reporting functionality

Here's a closeup of the output that is generated by SAP Savants PMM.  The screen resolution has been reduced to get a better view of the data.  As you can see PM count per plan is shown by period and the data can be summarised, aggregated and filtered using standard SAP functions.  The lower portion of the screen shows resource usage by period.

We don't recommend it but everybody likes the option.  You can export the complete schedule to Microsoft Project where dates can be manipulated and send back to SAP ... with the real time PM scheduling that is built typically the MSP option can be used for long term planning or importing into a turnaround plan.

So there you have it, a single transaction in SAP that provides real time information and updating for your preventive  maintenance program.  View the data by plant, unit, equipment type, PM type to ensure that your program is :

  • Robustly defined
  • Adequately scheduled
  • Executed per the plan
